A. Rationale

 

Describe shortly and briefly but precisely why this project is being undertaken and what benefits will be derived from it. (Avoid words like "very", "a little", etc.)

 

B. Scope

Project objectives

 

Identify the main objectives. Also complete the question relating to strategic priorities under section H on this template.
HINT: Use the SMART principles to determine the objectives:
S = specific
M = measurable
A = achievable
R = realistic
T = timebound

Key deliverables

 

Focus only on the most important deliverables. (In the planning phase, key deliverables are further divided into manageable activities and tasks.) Tasks include management deliverables such as the project plan.

Target dates

 

For each deliverable indicate what the target date for completion should be.

Costs per deliverable:

 

Estimate the costs expected for each deliverable. Only a global figure per deliverable is required. NB! The amount for each deliverable automatically adds up to a total budget.

List any action/deliverable that will impact on the operational costs and note the nature of this impact.

Anything else you would like to bring to the attention of the Projects' Board.

 

K. Resource and skills requirements

 

It is not compulsory to complete this section. However, if you would like to provide additional information on resources, e.g. where other projects might also claim the same resources, you can do this here.
