The overall purpose of the sun-e-HR system

The purpose of sun-e-HR is to develop a new infrastructure for the University to optimally support the management of its human capital.
sun-e-HR
supports the management of human capital in the following manner:

  • Provides suitable access to accurate and meaningful data about HR and remuneration to facilitate corporate and departmental planning.
  • Supports the processes required to attract, develop, motivate and retain high quality staff in the long term.
  • Facilitates the University's compliance with statutory provisions regarding reporting by providing access to accurate and valid data.
  • Uses technology optimally to provide streamlined processes and accurate management information.
  • Provides flexible systems and processes that can respond quickly to a continuously changing environment.

The successful implementation of the system has the following advantages for the US and HR:

  • HR can focus more purposefully on its strategic service delivery
  • Management information and staff information are more accessible and of higher quality
  • Users are empowered to manage their own HR information via ORACLE HRMS's self-help function.
  • Costs are saved by eliminating unnecessary paper work and by streamlining processes.
